How is this different from an EAP?

This online program is different from an EAP and is designed to complement your existing EAP offerings. Most EAP’s work to support employees with short-term counselling services for employees with personal difficulties that affect work performance. Your Lifestyle Redesigned Program (YLRP) is an online program to support employees in establishing and enhancing the necessary skills to improve their health, which in turn positively impacts their professional performance.

  • An EAP may encourage employees to sleep better, to workout or to do stress management. YLRP provides the tools and easy to follow blueprint to properly execute on those lifestyle changes.
  • EAP’s are typically accessed by employees when problems arise. YLRP is intended to be used as a preventive strategy to increase resiliency and reduce the need for EAP claims and crisis support.
  • Connecting with an EAP requires the employee to be able to connect with a provider during specific hours. YLRP is an online, self-study program that allows complete flexibility for employees to access the material anytime, anywhere.
  • EAP’s target one issue or area of focus at a time. YLRP allows you to redesign the shape of your health by addressing all of the seven pillars that affect your health.

  • Welcome: This module includes getting started, our philosophy, declaration, assess your health, and goal setting.

  • Pillar 1- Sleep: how sleep works, why we sleep, how much sleep you need, sleep essentials, how to track your sleep, setting up a bed time routine and how to sleep through the night.

  • Pillar 2- Nutrition: the difference between food groups and nutrients, blood sugar- why it matters and how to balance it, a new optimal portion plate, reasons why you eat, how to make better food choices, and how to track your nutrition.

  • Pillar 3- Exercise: the difference between exercise and activity, identifying your starting point, tracking your exercise, exercise essentials and components of exercise that you need to address.

  • Pillar 4- Mental Health: learning the 5p's of mental health that will make all the difference, identify how ready you are to change, how to be ready/willing/able, removing barriers, and how to make difficult decisions. 

  • Pillar 5- Digestion: learn the stages of digestion and what you might be missing, what your microbiome is and how to take care of it, stuff that can go wrong, focus on fiber, and the scoop on your poop.
  • Pillar 6- Medical Conditions: how to manage medical conditions that you have and reduce the chance of getting ones you don't want, and pain management.
  • Pillar 7- Lifestyle Factors: how to deal with all the other "stuff" that doesn't fall into the other pillars. 
  • Putting it all together: how to do it all when you don't have time.

  • ABCD's: how to prioritize your lowest pillar to get the best results.
  • Recheck Your Goals: see how far you've come and set new goals to keep you on track.
  • What to do when it all falls apart: Life happens- how to stay on track when it does.

This program is intended to support employee wellness. Each employee will get a set of tools to help them redesign their health in a way that allows them to feel their best. Our objectives are to increase productivity and engagement and to decrease sick time.

This program is presented over 8 weeks in several easy to follow modules. It unlocks each week to reveal new content. The course takes about 20 minutes each day to work through the material. Some employers may choose to allow their employees to complete this on company time. The potential benefit of a more engaged and productive workforce far outweighs the small amount of time invested in this program. Offering work time to complete this program sends the message to your employees that they are valuable and that you truly have their best interest in mind.
