I love productivity tools. But here’s the thing about them. You have to use them in order for them to work. The best productivity tool is the one that you actually use. That tool could be as simple as a notepad. Or it could be as complex as an expensive, highly integrated software program.
The best way to be more productive comes from managing all the stuff that goes on in your life. By having less to manage, you’ll be more productive. Living a simpler life is underrated. You’ll have less stress because there’s less going on. Which allows you to focus your attention on what matters and what moves the needle in your business.
What are the top three things that deliver results in your business? In your personal life, what are the top three things that help you feel your best and perform at your highest level? For both examples, do you actually do those things? Focus on the top three things rather than the 20 or 50 things that are on your to-do-list that don’t matter. Dedicate your time to activities that make an impact.
Another way to be more productive it to surround your self with less stuff. Keeping track of clutter can be exhausting. Simplify your space and get rid of things that you don’t need or use. If it doesn’t have a specific purpose or sentimental value, ditch it. Your business can become cluttered too. Do you have a collection of sticky notes or things you’ll get to, one day? Spend a few hours and declutter your pile of stuff to create the open space for growth.
Being more productive comes from having the mental focus and creativity to be able to do what needs to be done. To problem solve. To think outside of the box. To have attention to dedicate on the task at hand. The ability to execute those essential mental skills is critical to your productivity.
